Hodan Omar
Executive Director
Hodan Omar, founder of Hooyo Hour Organization, started hosting Hooyo Hour events in 2017. 7 years later, when needs for Central Minnesota moms grew, she established it as a non-profit organization with the goal of supporting these women with community resources, educational support, and building women who are self-sufficient. Hodan is currently Executive Director and is always a community connector. Hodan has received the Social Trust Award from the Central Minnesota Community Foundation. This award recognizes the “often unsung hero of community building: the weaver, an individual who is actively building social trust across the greater St. Cloud Community.” Hodan holds a BA in Community Psychology and a Masters of Science in Educational Administration and Leadership from Saint Cloud State University.

Omar, has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to the community, receiving the Social Trust Award and the Notable Alumni Award from St. Cloud State University.

Our Impact:

From providing educational support and community engagement opportunities to promoting women's health and wellness, our programs have touched the lives of many.
One of our notable achievements was when Hodan Omar donated the $2,500 winnings from the Social Trust Award to the Somali Dual Language Immersion Program at St. Cloud Area School District, further demonstrating our commitment to educational excellence and community empowerment.
